Our History Stepping Stones Children's Center first opened its doors in August 1995 with their home-base being in Belgium. Laura Klingelhoets opened the center in hopes of creating a nurturing environment for the children in the area after not many opportunities for quality care were available locally at the time. Laura is still the Administrator/Owner of Stepping Stones, and it's grown into a family fair as her daughter serves as the Director of the Belgium location. Stepping Stones Children's Center has moved a few times in Belgium but now has been happily settled at 420 Park Street. It is an unbelievable location with 9 acres for the children to explore nature, their environment, and be children.
The sister Cedar Grove Center recently re-opened in the Cedar Grove-Belgium Elementary School as before and after school care program to further care for the children and families of the district. Locations in the past have included Fredonia, Port Washington, Random Lake. Through educational experiences and the guidance of knowledgeable staff, Stepping Stones Children's Center is a great place for children to be able to learn and explore. The energy from the children and staff within the facilities continue to make Stepping Stones Children's Center the fun and caring place it is today. |
